I am the Chesapeake Conservation Corps member for the 2016-2017 year at the Center for Coastal and Watershed Studies at Hood College.
I graduated in May 2016 from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Ecology at the Eugene Odom School of Ecology. During my time at the University of Georgia, I was able to acquire both laboratory and field experience. I worked in several marine ecology laboratories investigating invertebrate and algal symbiosis. During each summer, I participated in tropical ecology field work in Costa Rica, predatory hawk population counts in Arizona, as well as stream quality surveys in Texas.
Having grown up in Maryland, I desired to return to my home state and use my science background to aid in the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. I am looking forward to being involved in the many CCWS projects pertaining to stream health and water quality as well as their outreach in the Frederick community. I hope to acquire both laboratory and field experience, while adding a unique perspective to the Center for Coastal and Watershed Studies.
