Green Neighbor Schedule of Events 2018

 GREEN NEIGHBOR ACTIVITY

9 a.m. Sustainability Bike Tour – hosted by the City of Frederick. Meet at the Festival Meetup tent.
Bike Rental available – Bike Tour info HERE
10 a.m. Festival Kickoff (with VIP Bluegill release)

Family-Friendly Activity Area OPENS  – hosted by Frederick County OSER
-Live Music – hosted by F.A.M.E. (See Music Schedule here)
-Food Trucks
-Local Green Vendors – See vendor list
-Electric\Hybrid Vehicle Display 

10:15 a.m.-3:30pm Bluegill fish releases at the lake dock along 2nd Avenue
-Scheduled School releases at top of the hour, and 15 minutes past the hour.
-Public may release fish available when schedule releases are complete.
10:45am-2:45pm Green Neighbor Tips, (each hour, 45 minutes past the hour at the Music/Speaker Tent)
Short environmental talks for general public.

10:45 – Rain Harvesting with Claire Hudson, Hood-CCWS
11:45 – Vermicomposting with Linda Norris-Waldt, Composting Council
12:45 – Right Tree, Right Place with Jenny Willoughby, City of Frederick Arborist and Sustainability Manager
1:45 – Green Homes Challenge with Lisa Orr, Frederick County Office of Sustainability and Environmental Resources
2:45 – Composting with Phil Westcott, Key City Compost

11 a.m. Stream Cleanup: Carroll Creek & Culler Lake area. Sturdy shoes recommended/water-resistant boots a good idea if you’re willing to get in/near the water. Gloves and bags provided.

Meet at the Festival Meetup tent just prior to 11 to complete a waiver form and receive safety message.  This cleanup is registered with: The Alice Ferguson Trash Free Potomac Network

4 p.m. Festival Closes
7 p.m. FREE FILM Screening: “WASTED! The Story of Food Waste” (held at Hood College) – hosted by Frederick Zero Waste Alliance, Envision Frederick County, Sierra Club-Catoctin Group, and Hood-CCWS
Doors open at 6:15 pm
